At the very first meeting I voted to overturn the YMCA county commitment, the old board had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) back in 2013, promising the County would chip in half - about 4 million dollars of a 8-million dollar YMCA build plus the land.  The original deal with the County Commissioner agreed to was for us to fund the whole thing.  But Phil changed it along with the other commissioners because I let people know what was going on.  "Then changed the MOU back again." I said in the meeting that I did not want to see YMCA die, I want to see the YMCA come, but it needs to be built on its own dollars.  95% of the Ys in the Country are built on the Ys dollar.  We should not give money to private entities and be in the business of picking winners and losers, hurting our local businesses.
